Song of Bernadette Cast and Crew

Rebecca Bayer (Madame Sajou) is a senior at Archbishop Chapelle, is in her third year of Genesians and serves on the executive board.  She played the role of “Ms. Swift” in The Desperate Hours and as a Cheerleader in Grease.  Rebecca also did props for You Can’t Take It With You and The Crucible.  At Chapelle, Rebecca is involved in Ambassadors, Retreat Team, Student Council, Varsity Track, and Psycology Club.

Emily Brauninger (Mother Joséphine) has been in many plays throughout her life.  Emily has been involved with four Genesian plays. She played the part of Mercy Lewis in The Crucible.  Emily, a sophomore is thrilled to be doing another play with her close friends, The Genesian Players.

Michael Bourgeois (Bernadette follower) is a junior at Rummel. He is a first year Genesian Player, this is his first appearance in a production. This was a enjoyable experience.

Tyrone Bufkin (Bernadette follower) A senior at Archbishop Rummel High School, Tyrone is currently a member of the Genesian Players and in the play Song of Bernadette. He is very excited and honored to be in the crowd. He loves theatre with all his heart and wanted to be in a play for a long time. Tyrone works hard at everything he does and harder at the things he loves, so he will give his all to be the best crowd member in this play.

Stephen Cazenave (Mayor Lacadé) is a Genesian board member and a senior in his 3rd year of Genesians. He is also a member of Student Council, and Key Club here at Rummel. He has been in many other productions including Grease, Tiger House, and The Desperate Hours. He enjoys every aspect of theatre and loves every minute he has on stage. So look out for him as Mayor Lacadé in this production tonight.

 Kaitlyn Derenbecker (Madame Bouhouhorts) is a senior at Archbishop Chapelle and is going into her second year as a Genesian Player.  You may have seen her in the ’06 Variety Show and as the Mystery Woman in Tiger House.  Kaitlyn is also the Student Council President and an active member of the Ambassador team at her school.  “I’m so excited to start my senior year off with this great group of people!”

David Desroche (Jacomet) is a junior at Rummel. This is first year in Genesians and his acting debut. His other clubs include Mass band, Chess Club and Academic Games. His hobbies include playing guitar, hanging out with friends and listening to music.

David Dupuy (Antonine Nicolau) This is David’s second performance as a Genesian. David’s debut was in last year’s performance of Grease. David is a senior at Rummel and involved in a number of extracurricular activities. David is a member of the varsity baseball program, Operation HeadStart, Campus Ministry, Big Brothers, Lifeguards, Knights for Christ, Eucharistic Minister, Choir and Mass band.

Jessie Dupuy (Céleste) This is Jessie’s first production as a Genesian Player. She was previously in a grade school play at St. Matthew’s. This is Jessie’s second year as a cheerleader for Archbishop Rummel. She is a sophomore at Archbishop Chapelle and is a member of student council, Matthew 25, Retreat team, and the Pro-life club.

Rachel Gaspard (Marie Soubirous) A ninth grade honor student at Archbishop Chapelle, Rachel is making her Genesian debut in this production.  An active student, Rachel is involved in sports, community services and cooking.

Kevin George (Francois Soubirous) This production is the first Genesian production for Kevin, a sophomore.  He was introduced to drama at St. Christopher Elementary in their drama program. Kevin enjoys entertaining people and especially creating a character.  A bass player, Kevin recently joined the Rummel Choir Band.  He serves this year as the class representative to the Student Council.

Andrew Gibson (Bernadette follower) is a senior at Rummel and is making his stage debut in the Song of Bernadette. He was also involved in Tiger House. His also active in Track, Cross Country, Cheerleading, FCA, Frisbee, and Eucharistic Ministry. He thanks you for coming and hopes you enjoy the show.

Lauryn Gilardi (Student and Bernadette follower) Appearing in her first Genesian production, Lauryn is a student at Archbishop Chapelle. Besides drama, Lauryn loves singing; she’s been in choirs since the first grade. Lauryn participates in singing at JPAS.  She loves sports as much as the arts as she is a member of Woodlake’s sports teams. Her sports are basketball, softball, and volleyball.

Paul Hebert (Dr. Douzous) Paul is a Rummel senior and a third year Genesian. He has appeared in You Can’t Take It With You, and was in the 2006 Variety Show.  He is also an a member of Rummel’s Student Council.  Paul enjoyed The Genesian Players New York Theatre Tour that he is going again this year.

Phillip Hedrick Jr. (Bernadette follower) Phillip is currently a junior and this will be his debut performance with the Genesian organization. He is very excited to be involved not only with the Genesians but also with this particular production.  Phillip is happy to be involved in a play that portrays our Virgin Mary, because he is a faithful member to his local youth group.

Shay Ives (Antoine Nicolau) A Rummel sophomore, Shay is a first year cheerleader and this is his second year in the Players.  Shay also is a member of the Student Council, and Operation HeadStart.  A strong interest in drama has driven him to participate in plays not only at Rummel but at various community groups.

Kirsten Jorgensen (Aunt Bernarde) a sophomore at Chapelle, Kristen is performing in her first Genesian production. Her dedication is very strong and she hopes to participate in many more productions during her high school years.

Benjamin Key (Louis Bouriette) a second year Genesian, is a senior at Rummel.  He has worked on the prop crew for other Genesian productions and he was in the Genesian Variety Show last year. Benjamin loves being in Genesians because of all the new friends he has made.  Benjamin is also a member of Campus Ministry, the National Honor Society, Mock Trial and is an Eagle Scout.

 Michael Landry (Jacomet)  A senior at Rummel, Michael is in his fourth year of Mock Trial.  He became a Genesian in his junior year on the technical crew of Tiger House.

Caroline Langlois (Bernadette Soubirous)  An Archbishop Chapelle senior, Caroline is in her second Genesian season and in her third Genesian performance.  Genesian audiences will remember her as Sandy in Grease and Erma Lowery in Tiger House.  Caroline is also an ambassador, a Rummel cheerleader and Chapelle’s Student Council Vice President.

Claire Kelly Laurent (Madame Pernet and Bernadette follower) is a freshman at Chapelle and this is her second Genesian show. She was in Grease last season. She is very excited to be performing on the Genesian stage again.

Caitlyn Louviere (Sister Vouzous) Caitlyn is a senior at St. Mary’s Dominican High School.  The Song of Bernadette will make for her sixth production as a Genesian.  She looks forward to participating in this play because of its intensity and the religious background that the script provides.

Matthew Martinez (Dean Peyramale) Matthew is a fifth year Genesian Player and is president of the Genesian Players Executive Board.  Bernadette is Matt’s eighth performance for the Players.  Matthew was last seen as Yami in Tiger House.  Matthew wants you to believe he likes to practice his fiddle up on top of his roof from 3:30 to 4:17 on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Ilayna Mehrtens (Bernadette Follower) is a sophmore at Archbishop Chapelle High School.  She was an active member of JPAS theater and music since the age of 8.  She has performed in many productions such as Annie Jr., Bugsy Malone, and The Wizard of Oz.  This is her first production with Genesians.

Price Provenzano (Student Director and follower of Bernadette) is currently a Sophomore and is involved in Student Council, Campus Ministry, and of course, the Genesian Players.  He is extremely excited to be a part of his second Genesian production as a member of the crowd and also the student director.  “To grasp the full significance of life is the actor’s duty, to interpret it is his problem, and to express it his dedication,” Marlon Brando.

Matthew Rigdon (Soubirous) is a junior at Rummel. He is a third year Genesian and is on the Executive Board this year.  This is Matthew’s seventh production. A Rigdon in Time, The Genesian Variety Show was written with him in mind.  Matthew is also involved in Operation HeadStart.

Genevieve Schluter (Madame Sajou) Genevieve is a senior at Archbishop Chapelle where she is a member of Ambassador and Campus Ministry E-Boards, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society and Impressions. The Song of Bernadette is her third Genesian production. Genevieve looks forward to college next year and would like to thank her family for supporting her through every show.

Katherine Schluter (Jeanne Abadie) is a sophomore at Chapelle High School.  The Song of Bernadette is her fourth Genesian production, and past productions she has performed in include The Crucible and Grease.  Katherine is involved in Student Council, True Love Waits, Impressions, Ambassadors, and many other clubs at Chapelle.  She feels blessed to be a part of the great story of St. Bernadette, even if she does play an mean character.

Ryck Soto (Bernadette follower) Ryck is mostly involved with the Rummel March Band in which he play trombone.  A sophomore, Ryck is making his Genesian debut in this play.  Ryck enjoys working with the Genesians and the music program. He hopes to perform in more Genesian Productions.

Andrew Stiebing (Bernadette follower) is a sophomore at Rummel and is involved in Student Council where he is a class representative for his homeroom.  This is his first Genesian play and hopes to be in many more Genesian shows.

Caleb Tourres (Louis Bouriette) Caleb is a junior at Rummel and is a team manager for basketball.  He has been acting since middle school; however, this is his first Genesian performance.  He hopes to pursue a career in acting and writing.

Matthew Torres (Bernadette follower)  Matthew is a talented eighth grader who seems to have a promising Genesian Players career.  He has appeared in productions before coming to Rummel and the Genesians hope to have him develop into a fine actor for our stage.

Mie Turegano (Louise Soubirous) a senior at Archbishop Chapelle, is making her Genesians debut as Louise Soubirous in The Song of Bernadette. Mie is active in Chapelle’s student life as a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Psychology Club, and Impressions. She is very excited about participating in Genesians this year, and she wants to thank her family and friends for supporting her.
