Cast Profiles

Kayla August (Rheba) is a junior at Chapelle High School. At her school she participates in Matthew 25, True Love Waits, Mission Club, Showstoppers, Student Council, and Life Teen. She is a second year Genesian. Kayla’s Genesian productions are Picnic and The Crucible. She thanks her family for their support and God that she is able to do something she loves. When speaking about Genesians, Kayla says, " Over the time I've spent here, I really feel like the Genesians have become a part of my family. They swear I'm not adopted."

Lloyd “Bear” Badeaux (Grandpa) a senior, is in his 5th Genesian performance. He was in Forum, Mousetrap, and most recently The Crucible. Bear spends most of his times concentrating on Genesians but he also does writing as part of the writers club. In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in acting. Bear says, "My favorite part of being a Genesian is the fact that we are a family and that we get to learn from some of the best directors around."

Kati Boudreau (Penelope Sycamore) is in her third year as a Genesian Player.  She was in Christmas Show 2002, Something Funny Happened on the Way to the Forum, Lend Me A Tenor, and The Crucible.  Along with Genesians, she is involved in Retreat Team, Ambassadors, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, and Pro-Life Club.  “I am so lucky to be apart of Genesians.  It seems like yesterday that I was sitting in the seats wanting to be on stage.  Being apart of this is a dream come true!”

Ross Britz (Boris Kohlenkov) a senior, is the only five year Genesian. He serves on the Genesian Executive Board. This is his 11th Genesian production. Previous roles have been the in Lend Me A Tenor, The Crucible, and The Desperate Hours. Ross’s other activities include Student Council, Track and Field, and Big Brothers. On weekends, Ross loves to sing in the rain, collect pens that don’t work, and booty dance. Since this is Ross’s final Genesian production, he would like to leave a word to his successors, “Mr. G is deaf out of one ear so if you talk to him stand on his left side.”

Kelly Childress (Mrs. Kirby) is a junior at Archbishop Chapelle High School. This is her first performance as a Genesian and she is looking forward to many more. “So far, this experience has been… interesting.”

Stephanie Childress (Essie Sycamore)  is a sophomore at Dominican and attended grammar school at St. Paul’s Episcopal School.  She was previously seen in The Desperate Hours.  Along with Genesians, Stephanie attends NOCCA for the dramatic arts, is a member of tri-m musical honors society, and is a member of the Dominican Jazz Band and liturgical music group.  Her favorite aspect of being a Genesian is getting to be a part of the family like atmosphere that is present with the Genesians.

Hailey Fox (Olga Katrina) is a senior at Archbishop Chapelle High School. This is her second performance. Her other school activities include the Photo Manager for the Yearbook, Student Council, Soccer Team, Bowling team, and Track and Field. Haley doesn’t know what she’s going to major in at college, but she plans to go to Tulane.

Whitney Gibson (Rheba)  is a junior at St. Mary’s Dominican High School. Though she has been acting since a young age, this is her first Genesian production. She is involved in many other activities including attending NOCCA with a discipline in drama, Captain of the Color Guard at Dominican, Officer on the Speech team, and a volunteer at University hospital. Whitney ultimately hopes to attend LSU Medical School and pursue a career in acting. Whitney is the daughter of Gail and Karl Gibson and the sister of Rashod and Kayla Gibson.

Paul Hebert (Mr. Kirby) is a sophomore and a first year Genesian. You Can't Take It With You is his first appearance in a Genesian production. He is also a member of Rummel's Student Council and Latin Club.

Jonathan Howell (Donald) is a junior and also a member of the Rummel Track Team.  His last play was The Crucible in which he played Francis Nurse. He also helped out with the most recent play Desperate Hours.  Jonathan says, “I love Genesians! These are my people!”

Andy Hughes (Henderson) is a junior in his third year of Genesians. His past productions include The Crucible and The Desperate Hours. In his free time, Andy likes to play his 1966 Gibson Les Paul electric guitar. He also is involved with Student Council. Andy’s favorite aspect of Genesians is pretending to be someone he’s not for a night.

Max Hughes (Tony Kirby) is a junior and is currently in his third year as a Genesian.  Max has participated in other plays such as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Lend Me A Tenor, Mousetrap, The Crucible, Desperate Hours, and Christmas Shows.  In addition to Genesians, Max is also involved in Student Council and Humanities.  Max would like to add that the bond he has created with his fellow Genesians will stick with him forever and that he will miss this year’s graduating Genesians a great deal.

Kevin Jones (Paul Sycamore) a senior, is in his second Genesian production. He previously appeared on stage in The Desperate Hours. Along with Genesians, Kevin is also involved in Mock Trial, S.T.U.D.S., and the fledgling Film Club. Previous to Rummel, Kevin attended Riverdale Middle School. The opportunity to work with the other Genesians and play interesting characters is Kevin’s favorite part of being a Genesian.

Ashleigh Keelen (Essie Sycamore) is a Chapelle senior making her third performance on the Genesian stage. Her activities at Chapelle include Varsity Soccer Team (captain), Historian of Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, Mission Club, and Thalians. She is also involved with Showstoppers. She enjoys Genesians because it has been a fun way of getting to meet new people and as well as furthering her knowledge of theater arts.

Caitlyn Louviere (Alice) a sophomore at St. Mary’s Dominican High School, is in her third Genesian production.  She was previously seen in The Crucible and  The Desperate Hours.  Caitlyn is a member of Dominican’s Student Council and National Honors Society.  “My favorite aspect of Genesians is watching Mr.G’s face slowly turn different shades of purple when we make him laugh.”

Capri Mandella (Penelope Sycamore) a first year Genesian, Capri is making her debut performance on the Genesian stage. Capri is a sophomore at Archbishop Chapelle. She previously worked props for The Crucible.  Along with Genesians, Capri is also a member of the Rummel Raider Band, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Ambassadors, and Matthew 25.  Capri is also a Committee Head in Student Council and Secretary of Impressions.  Her favorite aspects of being a Genesian are meeting and performing with new people and learning how to become a better actress.

Matthew Martinez (Mr. DePinna) is a sophomore, and a third year Genesian. Matthew is appearing in his sixth Genesian production.  Previous roles this year have been in The Crucible and The Desperate Hours.

Kenneth Mellor (Mr. DePinna) is a junior in his fourth year as a Genesian.  He has been in or helped with many plays at Rummel.  You may have seen him in, Teahouse of the August Moon, The Wizard of Oz, or A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.  Some other activities he is involved in are Student Council and Humanities. Kenny says, “This is Ross Britz’s last show as a Genesian, I’m going to miss that guy next year.”       P.C.F 10/31/87-12/29/04 R.I.P.

Christopher Merchant (Ed Carmichael) is a senior and previously attended Worley Middle School in Dallas, Texas.  At Rummel he is involved in Big Brother, S.T.U.D.S., and Student Council.  “I’d like to thank my family and friends for always believing in me and for always being there when I needed them.  What I like about Genesians is that I have a lot of fun working on the plays, I especially enjoy building the sets.”

Kaeli Nichols (Gay Wellington) is a junior at Mount Carmel Academy and is enthralled to be performing in her first Genesian production. She is a member of Mount Carmel’s Speech and Debate team, Quiz Bowl, Celebration, Echoes, and WMCA.

Ashley Philips (Alice) is a second year as a Genesian and this is her third production. She is a senior at St. Mary’s Dominican High School where she is heavily involved in extra curricular activities.  As a member of the Genesian Board, she wishes everyone the best for next year, and will be terribly sad when it’s over. “To all of my Darlings, I Love You, I Love You, I Love You!!!!” 

Joey Pistorius (“J” Man) is a sophomore and has been involved in three other Genesian productions: Lend Me a Tenor, The Crucible, and The Desperate Hours. He is involved in student council and campus ministry.

Natalie Retreage (Mrs. Kirby) is a senior at Chapelle  High School.  This is the fourth Genesian production that she has been involved with.  She has been in other plays such as The Mousetrap and The Crucible.  “Being in Genesians teaches me responsibility and gives me great opportunities.  I love being a Genesian!

Matthew Rigdon (“J” Man) a first year Genesian, is a freshman.  He has the distinction of appearing in all three Genesian productions this year.  Previously, he appeared in The Crucible and The Desperate Hours.

Josh Stover (Grandpa) is a senior is in his third Genesian production.  Earlier this year he appeared in The Crucible and The Desperate Hours. Josh attended St. Matthew the Apostle.  When he’s not performing or rehearsing, he spends his free time enjoying such ambitious activities as sleeping and, okay, basically just sleeping.  He’d like to thank Mr. G and all of his cast mates and tech workers for providing him with what has sincerely been his best high school experience and for all they have taught him. Also, he wishes they’d forget the incident involving the unglued boards during Crucible rehearsals. 

Stephen Truxillo (“J” Man) is a junior. He runs Cross Country.  This is his first Genesian play. When asked what he enjoys about the Genesians, he said, “I like the building processes, both roles and the set, that go into making these performances. ”

Andrew Vogel (Tony Kirby) is a junior and this is his second performance with the Genesians. He was in The Crucible. He is involved with Student Council, Nation Honor Society, and ran track and cross country in 9th and 10th grade, but I decided to just do Genesians this year.

 
 

Production Staff Profiles

Rebecca Bayer (Prop Crew) is a sophomore at Archbishop Chapelle. She attended Atonement Lutheran for grammar school from kindergarten to 7th grade. She worked props for The Crucible and played the role of “Ms. Swift” is The Desperate Hours. Along with Genesians, Rebecca is involved with Ambassadors, Student Council, and Track at Chapelle. Her favorite part of being a Genesian is having a real sense of family. Even though she is relatively new to this group she already feels like she belongs.

Emily Brauninger (Prop Crew) is a Mount Carmel Academy eighth grader. Emily made her Genesian debut in The Crucible.  She has attended Genesian productions her entire life and could not wait to be a member.  Emily has been involved in theater before joining to the Genesians.  She is looking forward to many more Genesian experiences.

Jude Brunet (Student Director), a senior, performed in his first Genesian play as “Francis Nurse” in The Crucible. He also worked as a member of the prop crew in The Desperate Hours. He is a member of the Key Club.  “I really like Genesians because it is fun and the people are great. Except when they sing ‘Hey, Jude’ whenever I walk in the room.”

Christine Cambre (Prop Crew) is a sophomore at Chapelle. She is involved in a number of other clubs, including Ambassadors, National Honor Society, and the Rummel Band. This is her first Genesian play.

Erin Conlin (Prop Crew) is a junior at Archbishop Chapelle High School. She previously attended St. Mary Magdalene and St. James in Canada. She is a member of Ambassadors and National Honor Society. This is her first Genesian production. She painted the portrait of Mr. DePinna, as well as other paintings seen on the stage.

Louis Haar (Sound) a senior, is a four-year member of the Genesians, and a two-year Board Member. He has been the sound technician and a member of Work Crews for each production in his four years. He was chosen for the Best Male Technician Geni for the 2003-2004 season. Louis is also a member of the Latin Club, Choir, Campus Ministry, Headstart, Mu Alpha Theta, Honor Society, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Student Council, Big Brothers and STUDS. He would like to thank Mr. G, Mike Camneter and Jaime Necaise for all they have taught him in his four years with the Genesians.

David Morris (Lights) is a senior and is chairman of the Genesian Board.  This is his tenth production.  He most recently appeared as “Glenn Griffin” in The Desperate Hours. David is also involved with Student Council, HeadStart and Big Brothers.

Lisa Roussel (Lights) A member of the Genesian Players Executive Board, Lisa is a Chapelle senior.  Her Chapelle activities include Student Council, Eucharistic Ministers, and the Retreat Team.  Lisa made her debut last year in Lend Me a Tenor and also appeared in this year’s The Crucible.  Lisa’s backstage responsibilities were in The Desperate Hours, Picnic, Mousetrap, and the alumni production of Rumors.  “Genesians has become my favorite high school memory and I will miss it when I attend LSU next school year.”

Shelley Schexnayder (Production Secretary), a graduate of Kehoe-France School, is a junior at Archbishop Chapelle. This is her second Genesian production; her first was the role of “Carson” in The Desperate Hours. At Chapelle, she has also appeared in Crimes of the Heart and Comedy Tonight! Along with Genesians, Shelley is an honor student who holds membership in Chapelle’s Drama Club and Chorale (which will soon compete in a statewide competition). Shelley also assistant-teaches at Metropolitan Dance Theatre.

Laura Schulze (Lights) is a junior at Archbishop Chapelle, and this is her eighth Genesian production. She was previously seen on the stage in Wizard of Oz, Picnic, The Crucible, and The Desperate Hours. She has worked behind the scenes for Lend Me a Tenor and Mousetrap. Along with Genesians, Laura is involved in C.A.V.E., Ambassadors, Retreat Team, and many more clubs. Laura’s favorite aspect of Genesians is not only the art of Drama, but also the people she gets to work with!

Katherine Williams (Prop Master) is being home schooled and is in the eleventh grade. She made her debut performance as a Genesian and as an actress in The Crucible. “I am looking forward to the social and learning experiences that will come from being this club.”
